One municipal ward by-election will take place in Mpumalanga province on Wednesday, 26 September 2018.
The by-election will be contested by four candidates from four political parties.
• Ward 26 in Dr JS Moroka Municipality – MP316 will be contested by Anthon Tshepo Moimana of the African National Congress (ANC); Francinah Mashadi Sebaka of the Democratic Alliance (DA); Mankone Jane Seema of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF); and Ephraim Mmatlou Railo of the Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD). The ward was previously represented by the ANC and became vacant as a result of the resignation of the councillor.
The voter turnout for this ward in the 2016 Municipal Elections was 50.13% and the ANC candidate won the ward with 76.41% of valid votes.
