Summary of the 12 March 2009 Constitutional Court judgement in the case of AParty and Another v The Minister for Home Affairs and Others. The applicants challenged the laws that prevent South African citizens abroad from registering and voting. The outcome was that South Africans abroad who are registered voters can vote, but those who aren't registered can't register abroad.
