IXSA campaign

‘I Vote South Africa’ (IXSA) is the theme of our 2014 National and Provincial Elections campaign. It's a call to all eligible South Africans to commit to the future of South Africa by ensuring that they register and vote in the upcoming elections. The campaign images achieve this by showing South Africans from all walks of life, but especially the youth, affirming their unique reasons for voting to persuade fellow South Africans to take the same action, whatever their reason for voting. The campaign also underlines the fact that these elections will mark the 20-year anniversary of South Africa’s electoral democracy.

We've enrolled the help of well-known, young South Africans in a bid to boost youth registration and voting in this year’s elections. Stars from the music, media and entertainment industries feature in a funky new TV ad talking about why they plan to vote in the elections – and urging other young South Africans to follow suit. The ad was filmed in a warehouse against a backdrop of a giant graffiti wall, which is created to finally reveal the message: I X (vote) SA and features young celebrities Toya Delazy, Anele Mdoda, HHP, Khuli Chana, Jack Parow, Joey Rasdien, Liquideep, Lira, Shashi Naidoo, Pabi Moloi, Lalla Hirayama, Siyabonga Ngwekazi, Melinda Bam, Loyiso Bala and Zolani Mohola. The soundtrack is by South African group, Goldfish.
