one independent candidate will contest by-elections set to take place in the
Gauteng and Western Cape provinces on 10 December 2025
Gauteng
- Ward 09 in the Ekurhuleni
Municipality – EKU will be contested by six political party candidates.
1. Mzomuhle Lucas Shabalala of the African National Congress (ANC)
2. Cathrine Busisiwe Zwane of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania
(PAC)
3. Zandile Sarah Mahlangu of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)
4. Henry Malaza of the ActionSA party
5. Mpilo Donald Khanyile of the Umkhonto Wesizwe party (MKP)
6. Letsedi Aleck Masemola of the All Citizens Party (ACP)
The ward became
vacant because of the resignation of councillor.
Western Cape
- Ward 06 in the
Theewaterskloof Municipality – WC031 will be contested by nine
political party candidates and one independent candidate.
- Simon MC Kenzie, an independent candidate
- Fezeka Olga Ntantiso of the ANC
- Hendrie Geldenhuys of the Democratic Alliance (DA)
- Mokejane Mokejane of the EFF
- Rinah Lorraine Mienies of the Patriotic Alliance (PA)
- Nonkululeko Ntsuthayi of the African Transformation Movement (ATM)
- Peter De Wet of
the People’s Movement for Change (PMC)
- Weldon Herbert Wells of the Good party
- Khabane Sheane of the MKP
- Mika Bezuidenhout of the Khoi
Aboriginal Party (K.A.P)
