Three (03) candidates from three political parties will contest by-elections set to take place in the Eastern Cape on 15 April 2026.
The candidate nomination list is as follows:

- Ward 09 in the Sakhisizwe Municipality – EC138 will be contested by 03
political party candidates.
- Mntuwoxolo Hobson Maranjana of the African National Congress (ANC)
- Thapelo Victor Funo of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)
- Nomzamo Londile of the African
Transformation Movement (ATM)
The ward became vacant because of the death of the councillor.
