In by-elections held on
Wednesday, 10 December 2025, in Gauteng and the Western Cape, the African
National Congress (ANC) retained their seats in both provinces.

in ward 6 in the Theewaterskloof Municipality, WC031. The party
retained the seat previously won in
the 2021 Municipal Elections, with 32.51% of the total votes cast, compared to
48.92% during the 2021 Municipal Elections. Voter turnout was 46.96%.
