Municipal ward by-elections will take place in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and the Western Cape on Wednesday, 5 November 2014.
A total of 61 voting districts will be contested in the 12 wards below.
Special voting at voting stations as well as home visits will take place on 4 November between 08h00 and 17h00. Voters interested in casting a special vote, can apply for a special vote at their local IEC office during office hours between 20 and 24 October 2014.

ELECTION TIMETABLE FOR ALL MUNICIPAL BY-ELECTIONS CALLED ON OR BEFORE 3 OCTOBER 2014 TO BE HELD ON 5 NOVEMBER 2014
The cut-off dates for the various electoral processes for these by-elections are as follows:
3 October: Notice calling the by-election
9 October: Certification of the voters’ roll and making certified segments available for inspection
9 October: Notices: List of and particulars pertaining to voting stations and mobile voting stations
13 October at 17h00: Cut-off date and time for submission of nomination of candidates
14 October: Notify party/independent nominator of non-compliance of outstanding candidate documents
