The Electoral Court has ordered the Electoral Commission (IEC) to request the MEC for Local Government in KwaZulu-Natal to postpone the by-election that was scheduled for tomorrow in Ward 22, Abaqulusi [Vryheid] Municipality – KZN263, KwaZulu-Natal.
The immediate implication from this order is that the by-election will no longer proceed on Wednesday, 24 April 2013 as scheduled. The Commission will advise on further arrangements for the filling of this vacancy.
It is brought to the attention of voters registered in this ward that no voting will take place on Wednesday, 24 April 2013 at the following voting stations:
